Tips And Tricks On Playing Foosball

You might have seen a game that comes with a table and filled with rods holding humans like figurines. That’s called the Foosball game, and it is a game that can be seen at most of the resorts used as an indoor game. Yes, it’s an indoor football game! Very simple as that!

It was found out with the same intention of playing football staying at home, and it moved from places, finally becoming patented. This dates back to the early 1920’s! Since then there have been ups and downs in this game, with not too many people liking it, transforming to getting into league matches in the later decades, and now it’s become one of the most famous time pass activity. So the amount of interest involved for it to make to the leagues can tell you about the way it’s popular and interesting!

But, do you know how to play? Well, along with playing idea, do you know some tricks and tips on winning the game? If you aren’t sure about this, no more worries. Read on further to get a clear knack for playing the game on your side.

Shooting tips:

Foosball games mainly need the control in the hands. But, the way you swing and handle your hand will tell you if you can win or lose. Beginners mostly tend to hold a hard grip while holding the rod, which makes it difficult to swing the rod and movements.

There are basically 2 grips that can be applied here to play better:

Wrist-grip and the open palm grip.

Wrist-grip:

This is when you hold the rod with your hand, tightly enclosing all the fingers and turning it clockwise and anticlockwise.

For shooting the alignment between the thumb and the index finger and the handle should be slightly loose, if you can feel the skin then you are holding it too tight. To shoot, you must swing your wrist quick and in 180 degrees to provide speed for your ball.

Open palm grip:

This grip is the quickest one can master and powerful too. The handle of the rod should touch your middle of the palm and you have to shoot, by rolling handle up and down to increase the speed of the shoot.

Learning some defence mechanism to gain the maximum:

Always be on the defence side:

While being on defence, your concentration should be on the ball, completely, no matter where the ball is! Being a beginner, there will be many distractions, and you must overcome them.

If the ball is moving on the left side of the table, then your men should be too! So simply, when you are in the defensive mode then your men must be moving, constantly.

Aligning the vertical way:

Stay on the defensive side by not standing exactly at the vertical lines, but slightly angled towards each other. The 2 rows should form a ‘V’ shape, which can hold the ball under and not to make it pass through them. for this, you can hold one rod in 7 o’ clock position and the other one in 5 o’ clock position.

Staggered way:

Keep your players moving side to side, but stagger them in such a way that defends maximum space. Don’t have players on both the defensive rods in line with each other, as this will become the most easily attacking point and you will lose the ball.

A technique to pass the ball:

There are many techniques to master, but the below ones are extremely good to get them quick.

Tic-tac passing technique:

Here the ball is passed from side to side, between the players lying on the same rod and the ball, is hit on the head to go straight.

Brush passes technique:

Here, you brush the ball with either left or right foot, rather than hitting it hard. You can achieve this by holding or keeping the ball slightly behind the player.

Change your movements and patterns effectively:

To keep yourself more defensive, you must keep varying your patterns and movements constantly, so that you perplex and distract the opponent giving them fairly less chance to concentrate on their part. Don’t give easy to your opponent with easy and repeated moves. Not all tables resond the same, when I practice I use Tornado Sport foosball table. We hope with this information you will surely play better than last time.
